Here we go! Like always, I was browsing the mighty, mighty world wide web when I came across My GBGV Life’s Blog. As I was reading, I saw that there was a Pet Blogger Challenge Hosted by Go Pet Friendly. As I continued to do my research on the blogging challenge, I soon realized that I MISSED THE DEADLINE!!!! Oh No! But I did not let that stop me. So here we are, two days after the challenge has ended, and I am posting a blog for the bloggers challenge.
Well enough of my randomness on how late I am with the Pet Blogging Challenge. Below are the questions for the 2018 Pet Blogger Challenge. Please keep in my mind that this is my first time participating in the challenge in addition to this only being my third week as a blogger. I hope you enjoy it!
For those who may be visiting your blog for the first time, how long have you been blogging and what is your main topic?OMG, How long have I’ve been blogging? All of two weeks! My First blog posted in December 2017. The main topic, welp, the topics are a little broad, but mainly they focus on how to care for your dog and the top places to visit in New Orleans with your dog.
What was your proudest blogging moment of 2017?Oooh, my proudest blogging moment, um let’s see, I would say “My Five Top Places to Visit In New Orleans With Your Dog”.
Which of your blog posts was your favorite this year and why? (Please include a link.) My Favorite post is called 'My Top Five Places to Visit in New Orleans with Your Dog'. I had blast writing this blog because I literally took the time to go to each and every place listed on the blog. And like the blog states, Parkway Tavern is my Favorite!
In terms of your blog, how do you measure success?I like for my readers to be engaged and informed. I get a lot of great feedback via Facebook regarding recent blog posts and how I was able to impact the reader’s live as well as their dog.
In what ways has your blog changed during 2017? In the beginning stages of developing my website and blog, I really wanted to focus on pet care and how to care for dogs for pet owners. However I found myself leaning more towards travel and fun with your dogs in the New Orleans area.
What was the biggest blogging challenge you overcame in 2017, and what did you learn that could help other bloggers?Oh my!!!! My biggest blogging challenge that I overcame 2017, it’s simple, blogging. I was so scared to blog and putting my thoughts, my feelings, my ideas, and the activities that I participated in out for the world to see. To be honest, I am still scared about blogging. I am so consumed with “Will my customers read the blog posts?” and “Will I have readers?”.
When things get hard, what keeps you blogging? (Question submitted by Pamela Douglas Webster of Something Wagging This Way Comes) This is going to sound so random, but random interactions or encounters will keep me blogging. Like seriously, I may randomly think “ I am not sure if this is for me? No one really cares about what I am writing”. And wallah! Someone will call or text saying that they read my blog, they really like my blog, or how they were able to find something for them and their dog via my blog.
Looking forward to 2018, what are you hoping to accomplish on your blog this year? Oh my, I am hopping to accomplish A LOT! I want to work more with different pet care/dog care companies, reviewing their products and/or services. I want to introduced dog owners to the hidden gyms in their local neighborhood that are dog/pet friendly. Also, I going to use my blog for more promotion and marketing.
In addition to what you’d like to accomplish, is here one specific skill you’d like to improve or master this year? (Question submitted by Jodi Chick of Kol’s Notes) One skill that I would like to improve and master is MARKETING. My marketing skills need some werk! I am not sure why, but I am truly afraid to market. SMH.
Now it’s your turn! You have the attention of the pet blogging community – is there a question you’d like answered, or an aspect of your blog that you’d like input on? Share it here, and we’ll answer you in the comments! Like many other new bloggers to the community, I want to know what is the best way to promote my blog? Also what is the most cost efficient way of promoting? Is it social media, word of mouth, flyers, or ads?
