Never Leave Your Dog in a Hot Car.

Ya'll, it's HOT outside and summer has not fully arrived yet. In the month of May, the average temperature in New Orleans ranged from 85 degrees - 89 degrees. Did you know, that the temperature inside the car in SIGNIFICANTLY higher than it is outside of the car?

Below are a list of things you should consider before going on an outing with you pet.

1. Consider the temperature outside. Remember to consider the actual temperature, the humidity and the heat index before taking your dog for a ride. The temperature inside the car can reach up to 200 degrees in the summer months.

2. Consider the places you may visit. Are they dog friendly? At any given moment, will you have to leave your pet in the car? If you have make a stop before getting to your destination, consider using the buddy system. This allows another person to care for the dogs and have the AC on while you have run errands.

3. Keep them inside! when you have to make stops or run errands bring your pets home. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

4. If you see a dog or cat left in a care alone, contact the local police or the local animal control.

Remember to have fun and keep your dog's best interest in mind before traveling.
