For the last few months, I have actively been using CBD oil to help Gabbana with the pain in his mouth. As many of you know, this past March, Gabbana had an "episode" of breaking out of his kennel and breaking the entire top row of his teeth (ouch). This "episode" was caused due to separation anxiety. I didn't realize it years ago, but Gabbana breaking out of the kennel and opening doors was a sign of him having severe separation anxiety.
Since then, I've given Gabbana roughly 3 drops every other day. I can tell when his mouth is hurting him simply because he will rest his tongue on this gums. The poor guy even looks like he is in pain from time to time. However, I noticed a change in his behaviors when he is given the CBD oil and when he does not have it.

If you're currently using CBD Oil or considering it, I want to make sure that you are using the right dosage. Below I am going to share some basic tips to keep in mind when using CBD oil.
Before using CBD oil, it is important to remember that they're several factors to consider that will influence the amount of CBD oil your dog need. One of the main factors to consider is the type of product that you'll be using. There's three types of products currently available for CBD use:
Once you determine the type of product you're going to use, the next factor to consider is your dog's size. A 20 lb dog will consume a lot less than an 80lb dog.
Now it's time for the nitty gritty, the CBD Oil Basics.
It is more common for CBD Oil to be administered in an oil from using the CBD drops. The amount of drops ranges between 2-4 drops administered up to 4 times a day. The drops should be administered directly into their mouth. I've learned that this process is a little tricky as my dog, Gabbana, does not like the taste of it.
Small dogs (under 20lbs), 2-3 drops 3-4 times a day.
Large dogs (over 20lbs), 3-4 drops 3-4 times a day.
For capsules, most contain between 150-200 mg each. It is recommended to follow the directions on the back of the label as each company's dosage will be different. I find it to be better to give the CBD capsules with food. You can either put it in a treat or mix it in with their breakfast or dinner.
The treats, their really different as each brand will have a different amount. It is strongly encouraged to follow the instructions listed on the back of the package. In my option, this is the easiest option for administering CBD to your dog.
