No stressed dogs in 2019

If you suspect (or have recently realized) that your dog is showing signs of anxiety,

you may be wondering what you can do to help. There is hope and this can be done without prescription medications.

Here are some tips from tip Tuesday to help you get your anxious dog relaxed.

Make a calm environment.

  • Although your home may be chaotic or your environment maybe chaotic, creating a sense of peace and calmness will help to reduce your dog's stress. You can do this by adding the scent of lavender to the environment.

  • Adding the scent of lavender can help to reduce stress and anxiety for both you and your dog. If you're out and about and wondering how you can get lavender around you and your dog?

  • They now have essential oils that you can wear as a necklace or just simply put the charm on your dog's collar.

  • Also adding the jazz music helps your dog to relax too.

  • If all else fails, try giving them a scalp massage. This will reduce their anxiety, provide a sense of comfort, and they will eventually fall asleep.

Many dog owners struggle to calm an anxious pet but once you figure out the triggers and fears of your dog it can become a lot easier. Just like humans have anxiety so do animals.

Your fear maybe driving over a bridge but your pets anxiety maybe being around other animals or loud environments.

Creating a calm environment for your dog may seem like a task at times but it's so worth it.
